Why this
uncomfortable feeling amongst people when the name Mary/Maria is mentioned
during discussions or sharing of the Word?
GOD is GOD (“I
am, who is” Ex.3:14) no doubts about that but from Genesis through Revelation
which is the Word of God as well as God {‘in the beginning was the Word: the
Word was with God and the Word was God’ Jn.1:1} you cannot discuss about God
without calling the names of people who had special encounter negatively or
positively with God hence you sing “God of Elijah send down fire; 1 Kgs.18:38”
and ‘Abrahams blessings are mine; Gen.12:3’ nobody will argue with you but once
you call Mary (Lk.1:27) or pray back the words of God through Archangel Gabriel
where God first saluted His creature thus “Rejoice, you who enjoy God’s favor!
The Lord is with you…Look! You are to conceive in your womb and bear a son and
you must name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most
High…” [Lk.1:28-38] and the word of God which must be fulfilled by every living
soul that wants to be saved as Christ our Good Master (Mk.10:17) did on the
cross {“after Jesus had taken the wine he said, It is fulfilled; and bowing his
head he gave up his spirit” Jn.19:30} is being honored by Catholics continually
thus ‘…yes, from now onwards all generations will call me blessed, for the Almighty
has done great things for me Holy is his name’ (Lk.1:48-49).
Honoring
Virgin Mary who is the Mother of all those who obey the commandment of God and
all who witness to Jesus (“Then the dragon was enraged with the woman and went
away to make war on the rest of her children, who obey God’s commandments and
have in themselves the witness of Jesus” Rev.12:17) is a continuous prayer of
repetition and worship to GOD who first made this prayer through the mouth of
the archangel Gabriel [sky and earth will pass away, but my words will never
pass away; Mtt.24:35]because God does not change {‘No; I the Lord, do not
change and you have not ceased to be children of Jacob’ Mal.3:6} and (“Jesus
Christ is the same today as he was yesterday and as he will be forever”
Heb.13:8).
